To transform the city's sanitation system through structured youth action — combining community mobilization, data-backed complaints, and relentless follow-through on every issue.

Born From
Frustration

Kishanganj Youth Club started with a simple question: Why does garbage pile up for weeks in our market? Why are drains never cleared? Why do complaints go nowhere?

The answer wasn't just "government failure." It was civic passivity — a culture where problems are accepted, not challenged. KYC was founded to break that cycle.

We are not an NGO. We are not a political group. We are young citizens who decided that the change we wanted had to be built by us — ward by ward, drain by drain, household by household.

Open Dumping Sites

Vacant plots and roadside areas used as unauthorized dump sites with no accountability.

Blocked Drains

Drains clogged with waste, causing waterlogging and disease spread in residential areas.

Low Civic Awareness

Volunteers conduct ward-level audits, mapping every sanitation failure point with photos, GPS coordinates, and written reports.

2. Engage Community

Door-to-door visits educate residents on waste segregation, hygiene practices, and how to use official complaint systems.

3. File Official Complaints

All documented issues are submitted through public grievance portals and to local authority channels — creating a paper trail.

4. Follow Up & Pressure

We track every complaint and apply consistent pressure on Nagar Parishad until resolution — not just submission.

5. Measure & Report

Outcomes are recorded and shared publicly — holding both government and our own volunteers accountable for results.

A dedicated app for complaint filing, volunteer task management, and real-time complaint tracking — powered by Firebase.

School Partnerships

Formal hygiene and civic responsibility programs integrated into school curricula across Kishanganj.

Full Ward Coverage

Expanding operations to cover all municipal wards in Kishanganj with dedicated ward leads and structured task systems.

Replication Blueprint
